What once started as the Las Vegas Raiders Report, and later became the Silver and Black Today podcast and CBS Sports Radio 1140-AM show, was honored last night at the Nevada Press Association’s annual award ceremony.
They say there’s nothing quite like being honored by your peers. Those of us here at the Silver and Black Today are feeling that ten-fold as our podcast took home first place in the Nevada Press Association Urban Dailies category for Best Podcast. The Las Vegas Review-Journal‘s Vegas Nation podcast finished second.
“We want to first thank the Nevada Press Association and its Board for this honor,” said Scott Gulbransen, founder and publisher of Silver and Black Today. “It’s indicative of a lot of faith, hard work, and a team coming together to really create a unique and focused voice covering the Raiders from Las Vegas. We want to thank our early and continued sponsors the Laborer’s Local 872, USBookmaking.com, and attorney Michael Troiano who believed in what we were doing from the get-go. We’re humbled by the award and look only to continue our journalist endeavor with continued focus and vigor.”
As members of the Nevada Press Association, Silver and Black Today supports the organizations continued promotion and protection of journalism in the Silver State. Promoting excellence in journalism, transparency in government, and professional development, the organization serves an important function in Nevada.
